Antignani, Luca (b. April 8, 1976, Alatri). Italian composer of stage, orchestral, chamber, choral, vocal, piano, and electroacoustic works that have been performed throughout Europe.

Mr. Antignani studied conducting, electronic music and piano, but primarily composition with Alessandro Solbiati at the Scuola Civica in Milan, where he graduated in 2000, and with Azio Corghi at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome, where he graduated in 2001. In 2001-02, he participated in the annual Cursus de Composition et Informatique Musicale at IRCAM, where his teachers included Brian Ferneyhough, Jonathan Harvey, Philippe Manoury, and Marco Stroppa.

His honors include mentions and prizes in the A. Casella, Castello di Belveglio, Fattoria Paradiso, Guido d’Arezzo, and ICONS competitions. In 2002, he represented Europe at the World Forum for Young Composers in Montréal, where he earned a commission from le Nouvel Ensemble Moderne. Other commissions include one from l’Orchestre des Jeunes de la Méditerranée, two from Radio France and most recently, one from Luciano Berio for the 2004-05 season of the Accademia di Santa Cecilia.

His music has been performed throughout Italy, as well as in Canada, France and Romania.
