THE LIVING COMPOSERS PROJECT  

Shane Fage

(b. 1964, Winnipeg, Manitoba).

Canadian composer of mostly orchestral and chamber works that have been performed in Europe and North America.

Mr. Fage studied composition with Allan Gordon Bell, David Eagle and William Jordan at the University of Calgary, where he earned his MMus. He also attended the International Young Composers Meeting in Apeldoorn in 2000.

Among his honours are the Dean's Special Master's Scholarship, the Graduate Teaching Assistantship, the Louise McKinney Prize, the Province of Alberta Graduate Scholarship, and three scholarships for graduate research, all from the University of Calgary, as well as several residencies at the Banff Centre in Alberta and a prize in the competition of the festival Strings of the Future in Ottawa (2001, for Quartet No. 1).

He is also active in other positions. He served as a liaison between the Banff Centre and Krzysztof Penderecki from 1998–2000, where he also served as coordinator of the faculty ensemble for summer residents in 1999.
