THE LIVING COMPOSERS PROJECT  

Lucio Gregoretti

(b. 1961, Rome).

Italian composer of mostly stage, orchestral, chamber, and vocal works that have been performed throughout Europe and elsewhere.

Mr. Gregoretti studied composition with Mauro Bortolotti at the Conservatorio Santa Cecilia in Rome from 1981–90, where he earned his diploma. He studied conducting privately with Giampiero Taverna in Milan from 1983–86 and with Franco Ferrara in Assisi in 1984.

He has received commissions from the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, RAI, the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, the Teatro Gaetano Donizetti in Bergamo, the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, and the Teatro Sociale in Rovigo. His music has been performed in Austria, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Romania, Serbia, Sweden, and the USA.

In addition to the works listed below, Mr. Gregoretti has written much music for films and stage productions since 1983, including works for Henryk Baranowski, John Crowther, Walter Manfrè, Marco Mattolini, Gigi Proietti, Claudio Remondi and Riccardo Caporossi, Margarethe von Trotta, and Lina Wertmüller.
