Greek composer of mostly orchestral, chamber and piano works that have been performed in Europe.
Mr. Harizanos studied composition, counterpoint, fugue, harmony, and orchestration with Spiros Klapsis and Christos Lambrianidis at the Ethniko Odeio – National Conservatoire in Athens from 1992–99, as well as art history at the Archaeological Institute of Athens from 1994–96. He then studied composition with John Casken and Geoffrey Poole at the University of Manchester in 2000–01, where he earned his MMus.
Among his honours is First Prize in a national competition in Athens (1994, for Melancholy, Op. 5). His music has been performed in Greece, Romania, Ukraine, and the UK.
He has taught composition, counterpoint, fugue, and harmony at the Odeio Corelli – Corelli Conservatoire in Rhodes since 2001.
In addition to the works listed below, he has composed music for many stage and TV productions in both Greece and the UK.
His publisher is Da Capo.
