Jarzyński, Dawid (b. December 24, 1984, Tychy). Polish composer of mostly orchestral and chamber music that has been performed in Europe; he is also active as a clarinettist.
Mr. Jarzyński has studied bass clarinet with Elmar Schmid, chamber music with Radovan Vlatković, clarinet with Matthias Müller, and composition with Felix Baumann at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste in Zürich since 2003. He also attended masterclasses with Theo Brandmüller and Adriana Hölszky in Saarbrücken in 2006.
Among his honors as a composer is the crystal tuning-fork statuette in a competition in Moscow (2003, for Ostinato). His awards as a clarinettist include Third Prize in the chamber-music competition in Kraków (2006), Silver Medal in the competition for young soloists in Luxembourg (2006), Second Prize in the independent music competition in Kyiv (2007), Second Prize in the Ohridski Biseri competition in Ohrid, Macedonia (2007), and First Prize in the Michał Spisak competition in Dąbrowa Górnicza (2007). His music has been performed in Poland and Switzerland.
As a clarinettist, he has performed mainly contemporary music, including collaborations with Marcel Chyrzyński, Elvira Garifzyanova, Paul Patterson, Kevin Puts, and Stanisław Skrowaczewski.
