Polish composer of orchestral and chamber works that have been performed in Europe; he is also active as a clarinettist.
Mr. Jarzyński studied bass clarinet with Elmar Schmid, chamber music with Radovan Vlatković, clarinet with Matthias Müller, and composition with Felix Baumann at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste in Zürich. He also attended masterclasses with Theo Brandmüller and Adriana Hölszky in Saarbrücken in 2006.
Among his honours as a composer is the crystal tuning-fork statuette in a competition in Moscow (2003, for Ostinato). Among his honours as a clarinettist are Third Prize in a competition for chamber music in Kraków (2006), Silver Medal in a competition for young soloists in Luxembourg (2006), Second Prize in an independent competition in Kiev (2007), Second Prize in the competition Ohridski Biseri in Ohrid, Macedonia (2007), and First Prize in the competition Michał Spisak in Dąbrowa Górnicza (2007). His music has been performed in Poland and Switzerland.
As a clarinettist, his specialty is contemporary music.
