Claude Lenners

(b. 1956, Luxembourg).

Luxembourgish composer of mostly orchestral, chamber and vocal works that have been performed throughout Europe.

Mr. Lenners studied music and musicology with François-Bernard Mâche and Alexander Mullenbach, as well as at the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Strasbourg and the Conservatoire de Luxembourg.

Among his honours are a scholarship to stay at the Villa Medici in Rome (1989–91), Premier Prix in the competition Henri Dutilleux (1991), a scholarship to attend the Ferienkurse in Darmstadt (1992), the Irino Prize for chamber music in Tōkyō (1993), and the Prix de Lions in Luxembourg (1997).

He is also active in other positions. He founded the association for electronic music Pyramide and served as artistic director of the festival for contemporary music Rainy Days in 2000.

He has taught analysis, composition and computer music at the Conservatoire de Luxembourg since 1992.
