Oda, Yu (b. September 22, 1983, Ebina). Japanese composer, now resident in The Netherlands, of mostly chamber music that has been performed in Europe and North America; he is also active as a hichiriki (Japanese flute)-player.

Mr. Oda had early experiences as a rock musician in Japan. He studied composition with Liviu Marinescu at California State University at Northridge from 2006–08, where he earned his BMus. He has studied composition with Wim Henderickx, Willem Jeths and Rafael Reina at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam since 2008, where he is working on his master's degree.

As a wadaiko (Japanese drums)-player, he was a member of the ensemble Jishin Taiko at California State University at Northridge from 2006–08. As a hichiriki-player, he was a member of the Kinnara Gagaku Ensemble at Senshin Buddhist Temple in Los Angeles in 2007–08 and has been a member of the Kölner Gagaku Ensemble in Cologne since 2010.

He has lived in The Netherlands since 2008.
