T he Living Composers Project  

Posman, Lucien (b. March 22, 1952, Eeklo). Belgian composer of mostly chamber, choral and vocal works that have been performed throughout Europe.

Mr. Posman studied at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Ghent and the Koninklijk Vlaams Konservatorium in Antwerp and received first prizes in composition, counterpoint, fugue, harmony, music history, and music theory. He also studied composition and music theory at the Hogeschool Gent.

His honors include the Prijs van de Vlaamse Mediatheek in the Muizelhuis competition (1988) and the Muizelhuisprijs voor Kamermuziek (1988).

Mr. Posman is also active in other positions. He founded the European Composers Collective – Regio Gent (ECCG) and has since served as its director. In addition, he serves as artistic director of chamber music at the concert hall De Rode Pomp in Ghent and is a member of the editorial board of the music journal Nieuwe Vlaamse Muziekrevue.

He teaches at the Hogeschool Gent.
