T he Living Composers Project  

Shahrimanyan, Jirayr (b. February 5, 1988, Yerevan). Armenian composer of mostly chamber, choral and vocal works that have been performed in Asia and Europe.

Mr. Shahrimanyan studied composition and piano at the Avet Gabrielyan Music School in Yerevan from 1995–2002. He then studied composition and music theory privately with Martun Israelyan in Yerevan in 2003–04. He has studied composition with Martun Israelyan at the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory since 2004.

He has participated in the Autumn and Spring festivals of the Armenian Composers Union in Yerevan and has had two portrait concerts at the Narekatsi Art Institute in Yerevan. His music has been performed in Armenia and France.
