Sikelianou, Tania (b. 1977, Patra). Greek composer of mostly stage and chamber music that has been performed in Europe; she is also active as a violinist.
Ms. Sikelianou studied violin with Iannis Georgiadis at the National Conservatory of Greece in Athens, where she earned her diploma with honors in 1999, and later studied violin privately with Alexandre Brussilovsky in Paris in 2001 and privately with Nina Patrikidou in Athens from 2001-03. She studied band instrumentation with Iannis Metallinos, composition with Michalis Travlos and counterpoint, fugue and harmony with Dimitris Mpazos at the Nikos Skalkottas Conservatory in Athens and there earned her composition diploma with honors in 2001. She studied composition with Wim Henderickx at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam from 2004-06.
As a violinist, she has performed her own music and other contemporary works in Greece, The Netherlands and the USA.
