T he Living Composers Project  

Strutt, Clive (b. April 19, 1942, Aldershot, Hampshire). British composer of mostly orchestral, chamber, choral, and vocal works that have been performed in Europe and elsewhere.

Mr. Strutt studied composition with Sir Lennox Berkeley at the Royal Academy of Music in London from 1961–64, where he also studied orchestration with Leighton Lucas from 1962–64.

Among his honors are the Manson Bequest from the Royal Academy of Music (1964, for Symphony No. 1 in E minor), the Carolan Award in the Celtic harp competition in Dinan (1986, for Hibernian Rhapsody) and two prizes in the Dr. William Baird Ross competition for church music in Scotland (Second Prize, 1987, for The White Island; Third Prize, 1990, for A Glastonbury Carol). His music has been performed in Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Norway, Russia, the UK, and the USA.

Amoris, Lomond Music and Phylloscopus publish some of his music and most of his unpublished scores are available through the Scottish Music Centre.
