Dutch composer of mostly chamber and vocal works that have been performed throughout Europe.
Mr. Verbugt studied composition with Henri Delnooz and Robert HP Platz at the Conservatorium Maastricht from 1984–92 and sonology at the Instituut voor Sonologie of the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Den Haag in 1990–91.
Among his honours are an honourable mention in the competition of the Internationale Gaudeamus Muziekweek in Amsterdam (1997, for Bilder [aus dem Novecento]) and a residency at the Internationales Künstlerhaus Villa Concordia in Bamberg (2001–02).
He lectured on composition and novels at the Ferienkurse in Darmstadt in 2004.
