Argentinean composer of mostly chamber and piano works that have been performed in the Americas and Europe; he is also active as a pianist.
Prof. Miyara initially studied electronic engineering at the Universidad Nacional de Rosario, where he graduated in 1984 and where he then studied chamber music with Ricardo Vidal from 1985–87. He studied piano privately with Alicia Correas in Rosario from 1984–96 and analysis and composition privately with Dante Grela in Rosario in 1984–85.
Among his honours are Primer Premio in the competition of the Asociación Promociones Musicales de Buenos Aires (1995, for Sonata Nº6, FM 56) and Primer Premio from Radio Rosario Clásica (1997, for Sonata Nº6, FM 56). His music has been performed in Argentina, France, Italy, Peru, Spain, and Uruguay.
As a pianist, he has performed as a soloist, chamber musician and with orchestras, including his own compositions and improvisations. He later served as pianist of the early-music ensemble Agrupación Instrumentalia in Rosario from 2008–15.
He is also active in other positions. He was a founding member of the Grupo Klank in Rosario in 1985, an ensemble of young composers and performers of contemporary music, and of the Asociación de Compositores de Santa Fe in Rosario in 1985, and has organised numerous concerts of contemporary music in Argentina. As a researcher, his specialties are acoustics, community noise and psychoacoustics. As a writer, his publications include the novel Liszt con araña (2017, UNR Editora) and the technical book Software-Based Acoustical Measurements (2017, Springer).
He has taught at the Universidad Nacional de Rosario since 1982, where he is a full-time professor of electronics, acoustics and audio.
